Alla Güner
Alla Güner is an international artist (French, Ukrainian, Turkish) who continues her production in Istanbul. Güner's research-based artistic practice focuses on current environmental issues such as water consumption and global warming. Her works, which can be associated with conceptual art, make our daily water use visible in varying proportions, particularly through the medium of sculpture. Through this approach, she has developed a unique form of expression which she calls "Volume Art." The artist creates water maps using alcohol-based ink with data obtained from various water sources. These maps consist of multi-faceted works including seas, water droplets, city maps featuring seas, and water sounds. Thus, Alla Güner invites the viewer to reconsider the place of water in our lives, both aesthetically and intellectually. In this way, the artist invites the viewer to re-evaluate the place of water in our lives, both aesthetically and intellectually; by depicting different forms of water, she emphasizes its indispensable importance in human life.
